Always focus is on the light breaking through a dark background. This painting has a real 'old fashioned' feel to it, as if it could actually be an 'old work', as in aged, and old fashioned.
still I am more or less pleased with it. It is dark but then in the right corner or commanding the right wall space, and in a beautiful frame, I think it could be quite a picture! Maybe over a mantlepiece, or in a dining room, a kitchen even.
