Description
Original painting shows Ibiza Island only a 30 mins sail (motorboat) from here. The wonderful beaches and coastline of Formentera, with its crystal clear turquoise waters and the hint pink from the tiny particles of coral which forms a soft line where the water meets the sand.
Heavenly places on earth, and how lucky we are to live here!

And this piece very much reminds me of the Monet at the Walker Art Gallery (in Liverpool). Very atmospheric, much depth in all that "nothingness" of sand in the foreground.

An interesting transition from distant, deep ultramarine blue shore (Ibiza ?), to pleasing aqua or turquoise, to a purplish pool again, to subtle sand, with indiscernable water's edge in the foreground. The broad emptiness of the sand area dominates two-thirds of the picture -- captivating, restful. Nice emphasis on pleasing color subtleties.
