I seem to always end up painting what I miss, so living abroad all my adult life, though I visit the UK, home and family often, I am surrounded by a Mediterranean landscape and in a hotter dryer climate...
Hence the green lush, pretty British landscapes...
Also Nature, (alongside my spirituality and studies of Buddhism) is what inspires me the most of all, a pretty flower highlighted against the shadows thrown as a backdrop by a huge tree, a puddle reflecting a blue sky after the rain, a broken down shed, a bench in a quiet corner... but most of all it depends on the light
I love a scene bathed in the soft morning light, or those magical fleeting moments as the sun begins to set.... and the colours begin to pop!
What a Wonderful World we live in!
I only wish more powerful men and women would act to protect it for our children and future generations.

THIS is truly one of the MOST BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPES I’ve seen! Oh my, Lizzy, I could get lost in this grassy impressionist tangle over and over and still SEE something new!! Wonderful!...I only wish I knew a glimpse of its “story” ... L/F

Hi Laurel - Thank you so very much for your comments and support I really appreciate it. .... I think I just get lost in my work, then it's as though I'm in it - and I m at peace in nature. It's as though I become a part of it.... all I can say really Laurel as regards a 'story' ... :-) At times in the countryside, where there is such peace and quiet, the feeling is as if God is whispering to us through nature... I feel close to the power of the Universe surrounded by nature
